Simond Independent School, Paarl, has a proud tradition which dates back to 1852 when the trust Het Sticht started the private school on these premises. The aim was to provide in the educational needs of the community of the Groot Drakenstein Valley. The school later become a state school and in 1997 it once again became an independent school. Since its founding in that year, Simond has done just that which Het Sticht started in 1852: to provide in the educational, spiritual, cultural and physical needs of young South Africans.
